Port Douglas Activities, Mossman Gorge

If you are seeking a pristine wilderness adventure, rich in natural beauty and steeped in culture and heritage then look no further than the beautiful Mossman Gorge.

A mere 20 minutes from your Seascape Holidays accommodation, Mossman Gorge is your accessible gateway to the world-renowned Daintree National Park.  This ancient rainforest landscape, with its unique fauna and spectacular flora, is a tropical paradise for nature lovers

Mossman Gorge Centre

All Entry to the Gorge precinct is via the Mossman Gorge Centre.  Here you can enjoy a coffee, or maybe a traditional tea and damper, in the air conditioned Mayi cafe.  At the adjoining gallery, view and purchase artworks made and designed by the local Kuku Yalanji people.

Mossman Gorge Free Activities

The Mossman Gorge Centre, with its shuttle bus service, is the starting point for discovering the self-guided walking tracks and the secluded swimming holes of the Gorge.

Put your walking shoes on, pack a picnic and lose yourself (figuratively only please!) in the lush green wonder of this pristine National Park.  Explore the rainforest tracks and river trails at your own pace before rewarding yourself with a refreshing dip in the crystal, clear rock pools of the Mossman River.

Mossman Gorge Dreamtime Guided Walks

The best way to appreciate not just the beauty, but the cultural significance of Mossman Gorge is by taking a guided Dreamtime Gorge Walk.  A representative of the Kuku Yalanji People will be your host and guide, you will be welcomed to their country with a smoking ceremony, visit sacred ceremonial sites, taste bush tucker and learn the art of traditional medicines.

Mossman Gorge How to Get There

Mossman Gorge is an easy 20 minute transfer from your Seascape Holidays accommodation.

For Self Drive, take the Cook Highway north to Mossman, turn left into Gorge Road and follow the signs.

Alternatively, contact the Seascape Holidays Reception and let our team book you on a shuttle bus or dedicated half day Gorge Tour.

Seascape Top Tip: Go on, take the plunge.  Even in our tropical climate, the water of the Mossman River remains cool and refreshing.  Be sure to take a towel and to leave plenty of time for a rejuvenating soak in the healing waters.
